ROYAL Caribbean managing director Europe Patrick Ryan is to head sister company Island Cruises from January 1.

Ryan, who has been with the cruiseline for 12 years, will assume the role of MD of Island Cruises, a joint venture between First Choice and Royal Caribbean.

MD Michael Bayley shifts to senior vice-president total guest satisfaction for Royal Caribbean. Senior vice-president Europe, Middle East and Africa Susan Hooper said: "During Patrick’s tenure we have seen substantial growth, much of which is due to his outstanding commitment to the business."
