BMI chief executive Austin Reid has retired after five years.

According to a statement, 59-year-old Reid is retiring from BMI for "personal reasons" a year earlier than he had originally planned.

Reid has been succeeded by Nigel Turner, who has been financial director since 2001.

Former deputy financial director Alan Bird has stepped into Turner's role.
