ABTA sets sights on Orlando

(29 August 2003)

ABTA head of corporate affairs Keith Betton is travelling to Orlando this week to finalise the details of the 2004 ABTA Convention.

Although it will not be confirmed until after the next ABTA board meeting on September 10, Betton is confident Orlando will be the chosen destination. “If it doesn’t happen now, I will think I have failed,” he said.

This will be Betton’s first face-to-face meeting with the chiefs of the Orlando Visitor and Convention Bureau and the bosses of the three parks that will be hosting the event - SeaWorld, Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando.

No one park will dominate the convention or theme with the welcome party likely to be held at one, the farewell party at another and an afternoon kept free on the middle day for delegates to tour the third park.
