Court orders liquidation of Air Lib

(18 February 2003)

STRICKEN French carrier Air Lib has officially gone into bankruptcy after a court ordered it into liquidation.

The carrier was grounded earlier this month after its operating license was revoked following the collapse of rescue talks.

Airlines, including EasyJet, are now vying for the 45,000 slots left free at Paris Orly.

The former-British Airways subsidiary struggled to stay afloat after the French government reduced its financial support.
