THOMAS COOK BOWS TO OFT PRESSURE

(22 October 2002)

THOMAS Cook has become the latest tour operator to bow to pressure from the Office of Fair Trading to change its booking conditions.

The new conditions will give consumers greater rights when it comes to surcharges, cancellations and compensation.

Airtours Holidays, Thomson and First Choice have already changed their policies and Thomas Cook will make the changes in the next reprint of its brochures.

ABTA has also agreed to revise the model contract it recommends to members, with new terms introduced this month.
