ANITE Travel Systems has signed a deal to provide NorthLink Orkney and Shetland Ferries with reservations technology.

The new contract is to supply and manage Anite CarRes for NorthLink, which was recently appointed by the Scottish Executive to operate ferry services between the Scottish mainland and the islands of Orkney and Shetland.

In addition to its ferry operation, NorthLink plans to offer accommodation on the Islands through its joint venture with the Island’s Boards, Viking Holidays.

It selected Anite CarRes as it can handle the booking and administration for both the ferry operations and holiday activities.

The system is set to go live in April.
