Ryanair gives away flights

(27 November 2001)

RYANAIR has launched the ultimate in low-cost air travel - by offering 300,000 free flights.

The offer is valid from London, Glasgow and Brussels Charleroi to 30 of the low-cost carrier’s 56 European airports for travel between December 1 and 18 and January 8 to 31. Passengers will be charged air passenger duty of £5 and passenger service charges of between £3.50 and £5.

Sales and marketing director Tim Jeans said: “We have been working towards free flights for a couple of years now. Many of our competitors questioned whether we would ever be able to give away free seats but we’ve proved them wrong.”

The flights can only be taken on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and selected times on Saturdays, and must be booked by midnight on Thursday November 29.
