midconsort agents told to sharpen business practices

MIDCONSORT agents have been warned to sharpen up their business practices to survive the current trading slump.

Gold Medal Travel said agents needed to sell more at higher prices and work harder on their sales pitches to be "sellers, not just bookers".

One way was to "up-sell" passengers to premium seats and sell more add-ons.

Head of sales Gillian Downer said: "It's time to go back to basics to sell more and sell at higher prices.
