Another 43 go in First Choice restructure

(23 November 2001)

FIRST Choice has made 43 staff redundant across its UK marketing, product and overseas operations departments as part of a restructure following September 11.

Some key departures are long-haul general manager Brian Booker, Travelchoice marketing director Virginia Dick and head of marketing for independent travel Helena Patrinos.

The cuts follow internal consultations and form part of the 1,100 group-wide redundancies announced after the US terrorist attacks. The three departments will now be headed by marketing director UK and Ireland Mike Ryan, promoted to the new role after 15 months with First Choice.
