unoficial ebookers results reveal profit

(24 October 2001)

EBOOKERS.COM is expected to reveal a profit for the first time when it releases third quarter results for the period ending September 30.

Estimated figures issued by the company today revealed a profit of £200,000. Once depreciation and other non-cash items had been taken into account this became a pre tax loss of £2.6 million.

Ebookers.com chief executive officer Dinesh Dhamija, who predicted the company would break even by early 2002, said the figures were outstanding. The company’s official results will be issued on October 29 and will show how it was affected by events in the US.
