BA discusses ways to boost agent bookings

(28 September 2001)

BRITISH Airways’ top management have met senior officials at ABTA to discuss ways of boosting sales through the trade in the wake of last month’s attacks on the US.

ABTA chief executive Ian Reynolds, president Stephen Bath and Scottish chairman Sandy MacPherson told BA chief executive Rod Eddington that agents needed tools to convince a wary public to fly.

BA UK and Ireland head of sales Tiffany Hall said the airline was looking at every option and refused to rule out the possibility of extending sales and marketing agreements to include premium ticket-selling agents currently without deals.
