CHOICE Hotels is in negotiations to open 10 Comfort branded hotels in France as part of its aggressive expansion campaign.

Possible destinations for the properties include Lyon, Marseille, St Nazaire, Villejuif, Maisons Lafitte, Bordeaux, St Maur des Fossés, Strasbourg, Annemasse, Asnières and Montpellier.

Choice Hotels Europe chief operating officer Peter Cashman said: “By averaging two to three new hotels every month, we are achieving our target of adding 25 to 30 new properties in France, Belgium and Switzerland during 2001. We are delighted with the level of growth, particularly in France, where many independent hotels are changing from other brands.”
